Grube Christine I & II About 15km away from Messinghausen, in Willingen/Upland, slate has been brought to daylight once a time in the past. This happened inside the mountain "Christine". The mine system opens up its flooded passage ways to cave divers from two main entries: Grube C I in Willingen and Grube C II in Schwalefeld which is 2km by car. Both entries go down in the same mountain and are not connected to each other. Grube Christine I was openend in 2007. This system has two soles with waterfilled tunnels and big rooms. These are on 24 and 45m depth.The total lenght of the system is 1,2km.

Schwalefeld has been openend up just in january 2009. When the mine was closed in 1995, the entrance was blocked to avoid having people going in the system. So after digging away 1800m³ of mud, earth and massiv slate, the gate was free again.

Both mine entrances are a 15km drive away from Diving Innovations&Repairs. Guidance Christine I is open for all certified cave divers (min. Cave I or equivalent) for 25€/day (following day after 20€). Christine II is limited to Full Cave or equivalent certified (Cave II) divers. Guided dives are possible in both systems.
